Trying, but failing,to find a price for purchasing VG?

  1. Greetings,
I know this may sound a little odd, but i can't find what the price for purchasing VG is..i am a free trial account, and the only option given to me is to initiate a subscription..now prior to selecting any game plan, i would of course wish to know if, and how much, i'd be charged for the game itself..only no such information is visible. Are customers no longer required to purchase the game prior to becoming full members? (or premium, whatever the terminology)?
    Thanks :)

here is a great review from a newplayers,Mithran is the player ,prepective:

I just wanted to give a short review of the game so far for anyone else who might be interested in playing, I have only played for a short period of time so it is from a new players perspective only, and it is only my opinion. (I know it is not all encompassing and alot of stuff is left out i am sure but I was bored on my lunch break )
    Graphics
Graphics are great, very lush and realistic. I like the grass how it waves in the wind and the trees move also. The revolution of day and night is just superb, looking up at the night sky is just inspiring and during the day the bright colors of the game remind me of a real sunny summer day. Sometimes I just do /sit on my character and find a nice angle and just look at the view. Some of the models and animations seem dated but not to bothersome, for instance, when my character rides a horse his stance is a bit weird. The combat animations are not bad either, though sometimes they look a little delayed, I overall think they did a good job, I love the crafting and harvesting animations. One thing that does bother me sometimes(and this is really fickle) is that when you wear a cloak it outlines your whole body structure, so it is magnified, thus making my characters butt look huge, all my characters are Thestran humans so I am not sure if it’s the same for other races. I love that the style of graphics are on the realistic side, I cannot stand cartoony graphics it completely puts me off a game. Also, I have to say something about the view distance because it is the farthest I have ever seen in a game, you can see what looks like miles away from where you are standing, and I turn on the atmospheric distortion, and the effect it gives is just cool, the other day I was on the Qa Riverbank and I killed the Big lion named Rufasa, he sits up on a little outset ledge over the valley, looking out over the valley from that pinnacle was radical, I could see for miles across the desert all the way across to another plateau where a storm was forming(storms actually travel across the sky) between the pillars of stone. Funny thing is, I played star wars that was just released and I would say that Vanguard that was released in 2007 has the better visuals. One thing that really is too bad though is that as a win 7 user I cannot see the rain effects, well, I can see them at certain times at night when I squint, this will be fixed once I partition my hard drive and run it off XP though, too bad that you have to do that.
    Sound
Sound effects are well done; I like the sounds of birds and insects, when I chop down trees and mine rocks, all of them are really good. I really like the sound effects when crafting, the wood shearing and the squeaking and the “owww” and “oooh” when he gets a complication injury, it really makes the crafting more fun for me. Combat sounds are good and I have nothing to complain about. The rain sounds good, although as I noted I can’t see it. The music in the game is decent, it’s relaxing and fits the game well, something I really liked was the music when I first arrived at Veskals exchange, it was a beautiful Elven like voice singing and was different from most music in games as it had voice in it, I really like it.
    Gameplay
I love how this game plays, there is so much to do and so much to explore that sometimes it is overwhelming but that is a good thing, it reminds me to just take it slow and enjoy myself. Sometimes I just log in and go to one of my favorite towns like Silverlake and craft for a few hours, other times I just go explore the wilderness and hunt stuff to level up, I always have bonus XP due to playing 3 alts so just hunting is a good way for me to level my character. I enjoy the way the creatures are different levels and then labeled by dots, hunting 4 dot creatures is just fun because they are hard, I had a good fight with a 4 dot level 22 when I was 18, it took me like 6 deaths and I probably lost more experience then I gained but when I finally killed him it was quite the accomplishment.
I have always wanted to play an mmo that made me feel like I was living in another world, this game really does it for me, it has just the right amount of sandbox elements that I really feel like my characters are an extension of myself trying to make it in the world of Telon. Building my own house and crafting my own ship are awesome, and the diplomacy aspect of the game which I have not even delved into really much at all will be something I look into later, I still do not understand the cards or what is going on J Both the diplomacy and the crafting in this game are both very sandboxy, seeing as you can be a diplomat without even leveling adventuring and both crafting and diplomacy have there own quest lines, it’s just cool. Doing the banishers crafting quest line is fun, still have not finished it but the fact that I do absolutely zero combat while completing the quests is cool, its like a whole different game almost, this is actually the only game out of all the mmorpg I have played that I actually craft in, other games I would just buy anything I needed, but this game actually makes the crafting fun. The way you craft is really neat too, sometimes I risk that A quality item just to barely run out of action points due to some annoying complication, other times I will just go barely into the B quality to get things done, either way I feel like I am actually having to work for my items instead of just watching a bar fill up or just instantly creating the items, I really enjoy the crafting to say the least.
I also have to say something about the very interesting character classes, some are very unique; Disciple, Bard, Psionicist, and Bloodmage are all very interesting and different classes to the usual lineups. So far I have only played the Bard and only to level 10, but I already love it, I like making my own song to suit what I happen to be doing at any certain time, I am sure as I level up and get more “notes” or “sonnets” or whatever they are, it will become even cooler, maybe one day I will try the others but I already have 4 characters that I play and that is enough for now.
    Overall Impression
Obviously as you can tell I freakin love this game, but its more than just liking the game, I feel I have actually found a new mmorpg “home”, I really plan on staying in this game till it shuts down(I hope that isn’t for years and years and years though) This is truly a unique game out there amongst all the other mmorpgs, it has the perfect mix for me of everything I enjoy.
  3. Thank you very much Dosi, much appreciated :)
  4. As far as I know you no longer have to buy the boxed game or the steam download. you can just activate your subscription with SoE. They have both single game and station pass options, I do not know the current pricing, but unless you plan to play other SoE games there is no real need for station pass.
