Shaman Feed-Back thread

  1. Hayatet Skin buff should have a seperate part for the lev buff that when turned off will also remove the Illusion, but not the rest of the skin buffs. The Levitation being tied to the rest of the skin buff makes it a pain when trying to do underwater content, you lose all your patron's skin buff. I think it would be cool to be a flaming bird under the water, but the lev is part of the bird form on land. Just give me this quick fix, please. Also, I wish I could move as fast as the rakuur skin buff, I am flying after all.
I would also like to have considered, more energy regen for the Hayatet Skin buff.
  2. Buff Issues - Hayatet
Shaman 55 all in one buff is called Spirit's Bountiful Blessing. It comes in 2 parts - Generic Shaman buffs that all 3 patrons have, and patron specific buffs that are unique to each of the three patrons.
The generic portion either doesn't add Spirit of Rakuur II or doesn't show it in the description (not sure which).
The Hayatet patron specific buff is Hayatet's Burning Rage. There are 2 issues with this buff:
    • It does not add the 5% Strikethrough from Hayatet's Gift of Acuity.
    • The 5% Strikethrough chance on Hayatet's Gift of Acuity adds to melee strikethrough chance. Given the caster oriented focus of Hayatets this should be changed to Spell Strikethrough Chance instead.
    Buff Issues - Rakuur
Spirit's Bountiful Blessing does not give the 25% melee haste from Rakuur's Gift of Grace.
  3. Hayatet
The last class update went a long way to improving the overall gameplay of the Shaman in general and Hayatet in particular. However, there is still a glaring deficiency in the amount of dps that a Hayatet can generate compared to a Turgin or a Rakuur. There are a few reasons for this, including lack of auto-attack when duel wielding caster foci, long cast times, and low damage abilities. To rectify this i would like to see the following:
    • Increase the patron skin buff for Hayatets to 20% "All Other Spell Damage"
    • Increase the patron skin buff for Hayatets to 8% "All Other Spell Crit Chance"
    • Increase the damage of Breath of Immolation
    • Increase the damage of Fire Claw
    • Increase the damage of Spirit Strike
    • Increase the damage of Phoenix Fury
  4. Rakuur : Our skin buff does not give us the 17 endurance regen as advertised on final version. And neither on previous ones with 10, 15.
Epic : Hayatets naturally want a foci its more intune with their style, tuurgins shield and club but wolves generally do better with a 2 hander. I use my 2 hander always, except on mobs I specifically cant due to proc. We are the offensive shaman, and should be allowed an offensive choice ( ofc I dont want you to change anything about the sword and board epics I think its perfectly fair I give up the shield, I aleady am ).

Ghostchild : Rakuurs grace was changed gives alot of other stuff now instead of melee hast, Crit chance and Strikthrough ammount increases etc.

True, but you get all the extras with the levell 55 all in one spell. For some reason the all in one doesn't give you the haste. You can test this easily yourself by clicking off all buffs, buffing with the levell 55 all in one, checking melee haste tab, then rebuffing with single target Gift of Grace.
  6. Not sure if I should be or surprised or not that no one brought up the 100% critical heal chance bug from T2 pota armor.

    What bug?
  8. Actually Acuity should be adding to general strike thru chance, to complement the general strike thru damage of the wolf.
  9. There are a few issues I would like to see addressed.

Please fix the following for Hayatet:

    1. When toggling the illusion off of the patron form - please remove the levitate that is associated with it also and not just the illusion of the bird. The levitation is not necessary when the illusion is off and we are still in patron form.
    2. Please fix the Purging Flames buff and make it effective. As it is, it is of no use and definitely does not work. This buff should last 1 hour, be affective and if possible to be included in group buffs or can affect a group.
    3. Add the third focus for the bird shammy as was stated earlier by Ghostchild's post: Soul Prison: Focus of Issvia - A 3rd shaman epic, specifically for casters to slot into a focus: http://forums.station.sony.com/vg/p...?topic_id=52878 Silius said that this was already made and just needed to be put into game.

Thank you for all the work you folks have been doing so far and if you need clarification on my points please do not hesitate to pm/email me. Also, I would be glad to test anything that you would need to do or are considering for the shammies.

  10. Those 3 changes listed above and a boost to Hayatet dps would be enough to satisfy bird shammies for some time to come.
  11. Please fix Bear Shaman's Skin (stats go to 0 after relog) have to click it off and recast to get the stats back.
Bear Shaman's lvl 55 all in one buff is still broken and the APW or PotA access all in one buff is being used by most Bear Shaman's which is frustrating.
  12. Don't know if devs are still listening to this. But in case they are, here you go.

    Wolf Pet:

Maim: Exploiting Weakness potion not working
    Intimidation: Damage portion not working

    Wolf Ability's:
Strike of Skamadiz vs. Vicious Bite.
Something is off here. While SoS got % modifier on weapon + scaling ratio's, Vicious Bite doesnt have % weapon mod (albeit better scaling (about 0.3 judging from tooltips)) and the "backstab" part of the ability seems borked somehow and the crit part of VB does not seem to be 100% increase. More like 60%
Overall, i got higher hits with SoS over VB on dummy/raid with said conditions achieved. And for 4 less endurance = more SoS's. From the parsing i did, it added up to 200 - 250 more DPS over a 5 min parse. Though things could change with capped crit. Still this just proves that unless you are capped melee crit (or atleast over 50%), which will only happen in PotA 3 and a lot of sockets filled, VB is no where, where it needs to be for a patron specific ability.

Throat Rip gets hopelessly out damaged by Krigus' Decaying Touch. KDT ticks over 12 secs which adds up to DD component + 5 dot ticks (every 2 secs) where TR ticks for 9 ticks (every 4 sec) and with 45 second base refresh and a 32 dot duration it's impossible to keep 100% uptime on it, even IF you could trigger a crit everytime it's off.

    Bear Stuff:
55 buff endruance regen part isnt active once you relog
minor stat increase to bear specific buff like bird general strikethrough and wolf got 2% acc/crit damage mod but nothing for bear.

    Heal stuff:
Wards/reactives doesnt scale with any heal modifiers (vitality and heal focus and effectiveness/crit). they are fixed values
  13. The Shaman could use a few tweaks from the Patrons.
I see no game changing reason that the Tuurgin bears should have to wait until level 34 for Tuurgin's Vigor I (endurance regen) when it could be moved to level 18, when Hayatets get the energy regen and Rakurrs get the Haste buffs. Endurance regen at that level will not break the game, all Clerics get one at level 12.
Hayatet skin buff levitation should be a separate buff that can be left on if you remove the illusion or when clicked off removes the illusion, also. The current state of the Hayatet skin buff I have to remove all of it to do any underwater content, don’t need to be a flaming bird under water, just want the skin buff benefits, minus the Lev.
Hayatet is supposed to be the caster DPS form and is still behind the Rakurr in DPS by a noticeable amount. May be able to tune that by raising the all spell damage amount on the Hayatet skin buff along with adjusting the Fire damage upwards.
All Skin buffs seem to have issues either not giving the correct regen benefits or not displaying the regen benefits, it goes both ways between the skins

From here on in this post are ideas that are less important, but if time is available, should be considered.
Shamans may benefit from an AE added to them from their patrons, other than the one Hayatet gets at level 34.
Tuurgin could use an AE that adds a little hate to help with tanking.
Rakurr could use an AE that lowers hate a little, but still provide enough agro that they could still keep a mobs attention if they are trying to tank a Mob for the group.
You may have guessed I like the Hayatet by now. Hayatet could benefit from getting an agro reducing AE at a lower level.
    Also Hayatets need more DPS.

I hope most of this can be adjusted and at least looked at.
    Be safe all.

I like all the ideas posted in this thread, including the Lev fix. I thought I saw something where Sillius was going to take care of it. The AEs mentioned above look like a good idea as long as they aren't going to make the Shamans like a Sorc. Bears getting Endurance regen sooner would help, too.
Why did they not fix the classes before the F2P launch and delivery a better product from the start.
  15. RAKURR FORM is loosing Endurance regen all time, suddenly it stops and Rakurr form needs a recast. Nice if that happens in the middle of a fight or when trying to Canibalize mana....
Shaman also needs a real DPS finisher with 400% weapon damage.
The low DPS even on full strenght and Dexterity is the worst weakpoint for Rakurr shamans. Even with a high crit rate and a 2 hander with 270-350 dmg the DPS is nothing compared to other fighter classes.
    > Throat Rip has a 45 sec recast, thats far to long it should be like 15 sec and have a higher crit chance.
    > The 3 fighting stances need an update too, they are to simple, nothing special at all. some % here some there.
    > /pet guard puts the pets on our character grafics in addition /pet guard doesnt work when the player character is Levitating or flying
    > Most of the shaman buffs do not apply to the Shaman Pet
    > Life Ward is a joke, the heal amount to low and the reactive heals to less
Over all the Shaman revamp some years ago brought more worse than good to shamans. i remember beeing able to solo 4 and 5 dots as shaman these days its a pain to solo an even level 4 dot with the best gear.....

i guess i wont see any changes to Shamans ever but it was worth a try. If nothing changes soon i am anyways leaving.

The lack of Auto-Attack does remove a lot of DPS the Hayatet can dish out. The above adjustments would bring the Hayatet Shamans back to were they should be.

Portions of the Skin buffs that are not working should all be addressed.
As far as the Rakuur needing to do more damage to match the DPS classes, the Devs have made it clear that we are supposed to be a healing class that can add a little flavor in the direction our patron is strongest. Never were we supposed to be equal or approaching the same level as the other arch-types. Rakuur is already the higher DPS of the 3 patrons. The other points in the above post I can agree with.
With the stances they start off to weak and stat weaker than I feel they should as you level up. The only one I think starts off where it should is the unfocused stance.

I would additionally love to see the Hayatet's Acuity line become group cast and last for an hour like all the other Shaman cast buffs.
Fix Levitation and give Hayatets more DPS, not too much, we aren't sorcs. An invis spell for Hayatets would be nice and faster run/flight speed. Rakuur can Stealth and run fast based on the DPS class Patron.
  17. Looks like a lot of good reasoned input to fix/adjust the Shaman class and the patrons and nothing unreasonable here. Except for the request to OP the Rakuur, they are close to fine now, IMHO.
Could we please get only the adjustments we are asking for?
    I agree with Chanchu's summation.

This gave me a good laugh.
You dont have the best gear. You dont have the best attachments and if you cant solo an even 4 dot even without this you sir need to reapproach how you handle your shaman.

I don't really understand your frustrations with the class. I'm a 26 Orc Rakurr Shaman, and I have loved every second since choosing my totem.
The endurance regen on my Rakurr form, I'm pretty sure, has never worked as advertised. It has been this way for years (I'm a returning playing) and was broken last time I unsubscribed.
We aren't a fighter class and I don't think that our "DPS not being close to a fighter classes" is a legitimate reason for giving us new skills with higher DPS. I’ve never had a problem with my Shaman’s DPS up to this point and am very happy with where it is. A member of a group was pasting parses one time and I was consistently at the top, even over pure DPS classes. I actually think our DPS quite high and it’s the reason I enjoy the class so much. DPS healers get me off. The Shaman’s DPS is a bit lower than my Disciple's, but I think that is fair as my Shaman has more utility.
I also disagree with us needing stance upgrades. However, I would like for the percentages/statistics/actual numbers to be in the descriptions instead of the vague writings like “a small chance” or “a small percentage”.
I would like for our buffs to castable on our pets and think that this is a downfall of the mechanics of a Shaman. It would also be cool if our sneak ability (I only just received it) caused our pet to do the same.
I’m certain 4-dots aren’t meant to be soloed; that said, my shaman can still solo them quite easily as long as they are below my level and without adds. My biggest issue is running out of energy to continue healing before the mob is dead.. but that may be due to my spec in Dex/Str/Vit rather than Wis.
  20. One of the developers has declared that the Endurance buff in the Rakurr Skins is currently broken and running out after 60 minutes. Also the /pet Guard mechanism is broken, the Pets stand on the player characters and behave weird. Often the pets run around in weird ways while the Shaman is fighting. If player is Levitating its worse. Even a little 12 year old child could log in and test this out.
If you guys kept playing without this buff after 60 mins then that is nice for you. You didnt even realize the buff didnt run anymore or ? How can i take players like you serious ? You play with other people in a group and dont realize your Rakurr skin doesnt give you any endurance and your just half as effective. my goodness.........
The other beeing that tells me to learn how to play my Shaman has been playing Vanguard for to long or has no clue and is just a n00b. accepting all the bugs the game has. You guys can apply for a pension for old veterans without vision and motivation. The game is done for some of you guys, you have no more intention to improve this game. Its time to move on for you. Try GW2 ?
And this L28 Shaman one posting above should wait until he has to Solo Magi Hold after Level 50 when hes standing there killing one mob in 2-3 minutes while a Sorceror is passing by clearing the whole area in under 3 minutes. You L28 Shaman should level before you post here and tell me how nice and great your shaman is. I know you can solo 3 dots, every class can do that. And no 4 dots are not just meant for groups, there are enough solo quests that have 4 dots. I am sure you put more Skillpoints into VIT instead of DEX,STR to be a great healer right ? My L50 Rakurr Shaman has 50% crit chance + proc items that increase Crit% by another few % , i crit every 1-2 hits but just for 1700dmg maybe a rare hit for 3500dmg. My Disciple does so much damage at Level 35 .......
I have proc items that give +100 STR increase mellee damage 15% and the DPS of my Rakurr Shaman still sucks even with all DoTs running a 10 Level lower Disciple, which is a Healer and no DPS, can easily outdamage my Shaman.
BTW Tuurgin and Hayatet are even worse, yesterday i changed my patron to Bear and Hayatet both are a pain to play. Only the Bear group endurance buff is really good. The Bears +Armor + const etc etc and all are far to low and laughable compared to Rakurr. I had a few % more mitigation as Bear nothing a 4 Dot would be impressed about.
Rakurr is the only good Shaman Patron........ the other 2 are unfinished and your better off playing a Sorceror or Dread Knight than bothering with Hayatet or Tuurgin.. At least Rakurr can sneak.....
Lets face it, this game is extremly flooded with bugs and it has a horrible Grafix engine. I dont believe it can be fixed ever.... not by 1 or 2 devs..
    (no native english)
p.s i know everything i am saying here is wrong, you can keep that for yourself...
