I have been messing around with numbers a little but with out a parsor im not really sure which is better but for a Dk which would you use and prefer the or the would like your thoughts and reasons behind both thanks
Intricate doesn't even begin to compare. Moonsu's is as good as you're likely to see for a while. More damage, higher stats increasing block and health, damage bonus applies to your spells...perfectly serviceable item.
Yah, moonsu's would be/was my choice also - in addition you get a temp general - he's not very good but every little bit helps. I specially like the dmg rating and str boost.
thats what i have been thinking as well, but some have told me since the intricate has a higher weapon damage it produces more damage and will generate more hate. the damage out put of the weapon (top damage) is a significate difference. 332 versus 309, does the +308 damage rating on the moonsu counter that? im not sure how tyhe damage rating stacks
Hmm. Looks like a different picture now, completely different weapon. Well generally that's a good rule of thumb about damage, yes on targets higher than 55, the 5.90% is not going to be quite as much. At 55, that's adding roughly 18 points onto the weapon making it about the same, plus what you get from strength, plus it adds to the spells. Even though the % may slip a bit against a higher level target, the extra strength and hit points will be more useful in that situation. Any small damage hate related thing would be almost insignificant--if someone was going to pull it from you, that's going to happen anyway. Just for numbers, if my highest hit on a target is 38k, and someone else hit it for over a million, and it doesn't move, that's how it's supposed to be done.
yes the first picture i put up was the sword when it got nerfed,(on accident) i had to go find another pic of the weapon in its current form.
This is a case where the answer is it depends. If you are not near the damage rating cap and will benefit from the full 5% dmg rating bonus, I'd probably say to take Moonsu's. It is more well rounded offensively and defensively. The Intricate sword will indeed provide more damage than Moonsu's, but I'd say it's only really worth it if you are already capped on your damage rating. At that stage of the game missing an extra 20 damage on your weapon isn't going to kill you, and since I'm going to assume you are indeed not capped, the difference is mostly mitigated by the extra damage rating anyway.
my opinion overlaps mostly with dirkin's although i think the the moonsu will result in higher damage output, the 30 str and 5% damage rating more than compensate for the 23 weapon damage. Provided your total damage rating is not capped (25% from all gear mods)
Right, I ended up wording it kind of poorly, but the Intricate is higher damage if you're already capped on damage rating and/or str. I don't think it is otherwise.
