Vanguard has stopped working.

  1. Been playing vg for a few months now, without any errors, and suddenly out of left field it won't start. I was grouping with some people the other day, when suddenly my mouse froze. I then procceeded to log out and reset my computer. So I then go to restart vg and for some reason it won't start. The station launcher starts up and the screen goes black like its starting, but it then crashes back to my desktop. The strange thing is that i don't get an error when this happens. I thought maybe a file got corrupted and then removed/re-downloaded vg, but it's still crashing to desktop. My computer runs on XP and I have not added/changed anything on my computer since starting vg.
    Thanks in advance for help/tips/and advice on how to fix this error.
  2. I had the same thing happen to me a week and half ago. I had to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game to get it to work again. Hope that helps
  3. You may want to ensure that you are currently using our most up to date launcher to access and correctly patch the game. You can obtain it from the following link:

    If your problems persist please feel free to open a support ticket with us for further assistance. Please include a copy of your dxdiag and msinfo files so we can take a look at your current system specifications.
  4. I would also like help with this issue. Except the fact that I want to return to the game. Since i last played, I bought a new PC, Windows 7, 64bit and downloaded Vanguard.

    It does not start. At first it told me it need elevation (UnableToLaunch - D:/Games/Vanguard/bin/VGClient.exe - 740: The requested operation requires elevation.) which I googled, and people said it needs to be run as administrator. I changed that, ran it - now each time I tried it, clicked Play on the launcher, it starts the loading screen, then it goes into fullscreen, I see the fullscreen loading picture for about a second and then it crashes to desktop. Vanguard has stopped working.

    I have uninstalled the game and redownloaded it entirely. I did the file check. I used the link in your post for the launcher, I chose repair, and it still crashes each time I try to start it.

    SO I finally checked the vgclient.log to find a ton of errors of sorts. Please let me know what can be done to resolve it so I can return to the game. Please remember I have already downloaded a clean new version just in case.

    Navigate to your bin folder within Vanguard, find Caches folder and delete it. Let the patcher replace the folder and you should be golden.
