one of the more frustrating aspects of diplomacy is the reward via parlay, bag of wonders, etc of "kini verses" , brownroot chew, etc. these are probably just considered cash loots (copper and sometimes silver) but they are rewarded at even the highest levels of diplomacy. a beginning diplomat may actually use one as a one-time use hand held item for a parlay advantage until they get any other permanent item. As I have mentioned in other threads, diplomacy needs an income stream as a benefit to players that wish to buy diplo or other gear off the market , but have no cash flow. Perhaps these items could be a means of providing such. However, their current value is too low to even bother with and particularly annoying when you get them from a lvl 55 parlay or your bag of wonders. I imagine having the value scale with the level of the parlay would take too much dev effort. or having items that are level relevant. (there seems to be one loot table for all parlays). The best answer may be to add pestigious baubles as a drop from regular parlays since they have value to all level player. food for thought,
It would be very nice if the consumable handheld items would drop off the parley loot table outside of tier 1 parleys, and should the baubles be added in to the parley loot table, I think that it would be quite nice if they followed the same tier structure as those that are awarded through the bartenders, although I think that they should still remain somewhat rare. It would also be a wonderful idea, in my opinion, if there would be a random opportunity to be awarded multiple pieces of information, either that or increase the drop rate of evidence yielded from the respective parleys. The rumors and the hearsay seem to have a decent drop rate, but any T5 diplomats who has banked a great deal of T5 information can see the disparity of evidence rewards compared to the others. One last point, on the matter of T5 information, can the exchange for documents versus ancient platinum coins be looked at?
I like the fact that prestigious baubles only drop from bartender parleys or fishing, and I don't think this is a good answer to the problem. If anything, I imagine it will likely trivialize the value of the bauble. Diplomacy does have a nice income stream through land deeds, and I've found that between the income from this, cash loot rewards, and rewards I get from bartender parleys (not to mention information trade ins) that I've never had to worry about the diplomacy skill being unfunded or unable to support itself. I do completely agree with Leav though that the loot table for the one time use parley items and level of type of rewards from equipment chests needs to be looked at (Diamond Blade or Mithril Apron anyone?). I disagree with Aasha's comment on evidence. I've had plenty of luck in getting evidence at all tiers and enjoy the rarity there. I do agree with her on looking at the T5 info exchange for ancient plat coins though. As it stands it seems like a terrible deal. Another thing that I would suggest needs to be looked at is the recipe book drop that only gives 1 of 3 wordsmith formulas. Adding a chance to get some of the other recipes that diplo allows to drop would be great, even if only a marginal chance.
