SOE All Access Pass - Vanguard and Everquest II

    Good morning.

I didn't want to necro another post so I started a new one for myself.

I am playing Vanguard and also Everquest II as totally free-to-play. Today I would like to sign up for Gold memberships then I started reading about the SOE All Access Pass FAQ and it says here:

"Does the SOE All Access game pass include the games themselves?
SOE All Access is an all-in-one recurring plan that grants you game time or Membership for certain SOE games one recurring fee. PlanetSide and Vanguard require the separate purchase of the base game."

    Also this: --

What is NOT included in SOE All Access?
PlanetSide and Vanguard require the separate purchase of the base game.

The part that concerns me is "Vanguard requires the separate purchase of the base game."

Is this true? I am playing Vanguard as free to play now, I downloaded it through the Steam client (EQ2 as well). So if I do this SOE All Access Pass I have to actually buy the Vanguard game itself in addition to the monthly subscription?

I am under the impression that if I was playing Vanguard free to play and wanted to subscribe to Vanguard by itself, I would just pay the monthly subscription and doing so would "flag" me as having *everything* available to me (minus the expansions I would have to buy separately).

So which is it? I can upgrade Vanguard in game to Gold membership and have access to most everything or I buy the All Access Pass and have to pay for the Vanguard game?

I wanted the All Access Pass so I can play both Vanguard and Everquest II (fully unlocked) but if paying for the All Access Pass means I have to actually buy Vanguard then I'll just continue playing Vanguard as free to play with all it's imposed limitations and I will just sign up for Gold membership on Everquest II by itself.

I hope you get what I am trying to ask. Sounds like the All Access Pass to play both games means I have to put out additional money to get Vanguard, instead of it just "flagging me" as a paid member for both games.

EDIT: My understanding of the SOE ALL Access Pass was that it would give me/label me as a "Gold Membership" status for both of these games (and all the other ones listed).

I will wait 'til I hear from someone before I pay for anything.

A related thread was this post but the wording by Sinisna confused me a bit. It confused me because it doesn't jive with what the FAQ say.

    Thanks.

No, it is not. The game is free (to play).

No, you do not. The game is free (to play).

I am sorry if it was unclear. Let me reiterate:

    Previously
    You buy the game
    You pay a subscription fee

    Now
    The game is free
    The subscription is optional

This leaves you with 3 possibilities:

    1. You are not paying for anything at all (the game itself is free and you are not opting for a subscription).

    2. You are only paying for a Vanguard subscription (the game itself is still free).

    3. You are paying for a SOE All Access subscription, which includes a Vanguard subscription (the game itself is still free).

Therefore, if you go with option 3:
You will have access to all the SOE games listed in their post, and have all the subscriptions for the said games.

I hope this answers your question.

What took you so long Sinisna? tsk tsk, I had to wait 26 whole minutes + seconds and everything for you to reply! :D Napping again? /ducks for cover.

You see where it sounded contradictory ehh? They should *update* the wording of that in their FAQ then.

    /lub you Sinisna
