An Invitation - The Preferiti Seventh Telonian Anniversary

Greetings fellow Telonians,

It is with great joy that I address you all. On the 26th of this month, my family will celebrate our 7th anniversary here in Telon. It was with much eagerness and excitement that we left the land of Norrath to explore this great new world. We have never questioned our choice to do so. Times in Telon, for many of her people, have been a challenge, but it is with the help of our fellows that we have lived and prospered here.

As such, I hereby formally invite our extended family, our friends known and friends yet made to our guild home, The Red Dragon Inn, on Qalia's Keejay Cove for a celebration. Our present aim is that the festivities will begin as the sun sits high on his throne. We have stocked the ale, wine, food and candles so the length of the party will be determined only by how long our friends wish to stay. In the past a warm hearth and entrancing tales have captured our friends for many hours. It is our hope that will be the case again.

I shall update this scroll as more details are formalized. Until then, may the gods grant you all the very best,

((I wanted to post this as soon as possible so that I could get the word out for all who might be interested. The details currently being worked out are the particular prizes and transportation for those who wish to attend. What has been done in the past is a member of my guild has been stationed in Khal with a caravel so as to bring those wanting to attend via boat to the hall. It is likely we will do this again, as I want to have this event open to even the youngest character and as such ensure survivability in traveling. The start time that I am aiming for is 1 PM EST - which seems to be the best time so that we can try to have the event open to the most time zones.

It has been far too long since we have been able to do our Pay It Forward events, so we are all quite excited about our anniversary party.

***Very important note - The Preferiti is a role play guild and our events are as well, but they are open to everyone and always will be. Please do not feel that you must be a RP'er, or in the worst case, "RP the right way" to attend, as that is not at all what we are about. I and my guild have received some great kindnesses from our community and it has always been our goal to pay those kindnesses forward at every opportunity. So, come out to the hall, let's have a party and spread some joy!!!))

I can't wait for this as it looks like a lot of fun! You can count on Aasha and The Prefereti throwing a fabulous celebration! I am looking forward to attending.

This is very true, so if you're not a roleplayer don't let it deter you from attending. I've seen Aasha and The Preferiti interact with others and I guarantee they'll make you feel right at home.

Vanguard doesn't have many events other than the usual holiday ones. If you're looking for something different and a good time, I strongly urge you to attend. Vanguard is what you make of it. I know I'll be there!

This sounds really interesting, having just come back to the game, I was keen until I saw the date. Unfortunately I will be lounging on a beach in Thailand at the time of this event, I will raise a cocktail to the heavens though on the 26th to all those celebrating in Telon.

((I hope that you have a brilliant time. I have had to take some time off from doing these server events, but hopefully we will be doing more in the near future. Likely not to this one's size, but my goal is to get back to our quarterly Pay It Forward schedule, so more opportunities should be available soon. ))

Man I wish I could attend this. It makes me happy to see these type of events online. It inspires me to do some during my normal play times even if not many people show up.

Thanks for the encouragement and for putting the event on Aasha. Some day I would love to run around with some of you from your guild. I have my days I like to RP. (but my play times are late PST so I don't get to much)

Company is always welcomed, Morty. Also, check for folks in /tavern, as that is a nice little way to be able to continue with what you are doing and still RP some (especially if doing diplomacy and/or crafting...a nice diversion! ) I have some folks that are PST time and late as well. But with the closing of the year, it seems that the population overall can get a bit scarce during this time of year - from a couple weeks before Thanksgiving until mid January, from what I have observed in all these years here...

Walking uphill both ways to Khal on broken glass, chased by rabid wyvern and ksvari to get there and not even be given a piece of naan bread or stale nuts! These young whipper-snappers have it made! MADE I SAY!!! They know not what a grind is!'

Sounds like fun. Shame I have to work that day.

As promised, friends, updates regarding the festivities of the 26th...

Flex your mental aptitude in rounds of quizzing about the history of our beloved land and play for a chance to win one of five beast for ground travel, or one of five beast for traveling through the clouds. Never fear if you are a young one to the realms of crafting and diplomacy or if your adventures through this world have only just begun, these beast have such profound levels of training that a babe can direct them where to go!

Do tell, are you a weaver of words? Have you a tale or three to spin for good company over a tankard and by a warm hearth? If so, let your bardic nature run free and grace us with your weary traveler tales. There will be three rewards for the tales that keeps us tangled...and these rewards will enable one not to be so very weary for a long stay!

There are three other prizes on the table, but for these a competition has yet to be decided upon. More information will be provided once the ink has dried upon the parchment!

((The announcement today has thrown a very somber mood upon the land of Telon and our community. I had contemplated not doing the event, but I feel that it is all the better to do it. We have a bit more time in the game that we love, so let's celebrate it! Let's take this chance to savor the things of Vanguard that kept us here, drew us back and captivated us at first glance! Let's relish in the company of our friends, and in some cases extended gaming family, and enjoy every last sunset that we have a chance to!))

Attention to all of Telon-

I am Jharl. Master Mineralogist from a shard of this Universe called Shidreth. This is a part of my story. I was the first on Shidreth to have all mineralogy quests completed, I stood in good standing with artist across all continents and mastered their crafts and style. While my friend Claret, a Raki of similar reknown, was the first to reach an Artisan level, and the antagonistic druid Tarkn, may have also (forgive a poor old Gnome's memory) reach such skill prior to me; both of them focused on one particular area of the world, whereas I was a Gnome of the world, friend to all.

I have hoarded for many years the most valuable and rare item I have come across while exploring this land, a good lesson of taught to me by my own family. But I feel trouble. The gods are speaking. I feel an end, and an impending doom. The fear is spreading, and I cannot hold onto such rare and powerful things any longer.

While my friend Aasha wishes you to celebrate, I wish for you to be prepared! Arm yourselves! Travel into the deepest dungeons of Telon, record your journeys so that all that come after know, that this! this is the time where armed men stood and laughed in defiance.

Come and celebrate with me. Arm yourselves with the magical creations, and seek out the danger in Telon. Do not let them forget us.

I've been playing for 6 years. I have a crafter in t4 in every class, and Jharl has been t5 for.. ever. I'm emptying out my personal hoard of materials. All of it. I'm crafting it up and giving it away at the celebration. I can't unlock it for you, but take it... go into the dungeons of Telon with it. All I ask in return is... if you can, make videos of Telon and upload it. I want to be able to remember. If you can't, write stories. If you can't write, then tell your friends that Vanguard was the best MMO ever. If you can't do that, then just remember a poor, frustrated, Gnome; and treat all other gnomes kindly.)

I just hope the event is still going on by the time I get off work.
