  1. hmm, rp in vanguard? intriguing, possibly just intriguing enough...
  2. So much response, and a decent sized roster on your guildportal site. I"ve got to wonder why things fell apart. Ifanyone is interestd, I've none of the details worked out yet, but I'll be either seeking out a guild with a decent population of RP-interested folks in it, or creatig one as a haven for them.
  3. For what it's worth, I'll chime in as another who fully intends to RP... once I start playing. Might take me a while to learn the lore and whatnot, but I'll take part eventually. (There wouldn't happen to be anywhere I could read up on the lore without having access to the game itself, would there...?)

Your best bet would be one of the Vanguard Wikis, such as Telonica. I've always thought Vanguard a little lacking in the out-of-game resource department, but there's so much lore even just in the starter towns that I imagine it'd be daunting to try to reiterate it all on a website. I'd check out the wiki articles on the various races though, that might get you started! Once you get into the game, pick a race you're interested in and go through their homeland quests. You'll learn a lot very quickly.
Hope to see you in game!

((I'm quite new myself and no basically nothing of the lore, but that doesn't stop me from RPing all the time. Of course, I tend to 'environmental RP' which is a bit left-of-field in relation to the more common 'sit in a bar and chat' or 'create storylines' RP. I get my stimulus off the environment/characters/monsters/other players my character comes in contact with on their adventures and build RP around that. Stuff like always wearing a hood when it's raining, muttering about cold water when swimming through it, commenting on a lovely day when it's such. When I Rp and elf and have to go AFK, they simply 'have to spend some time meditating briefly for a moment', if i'm laggy and have to relog or the like, my character's 'dizzy' and must 'rest very briefly' and so on... It's amazing (least in my experience) how RP and repore can build quickly with other players when doing this I've found, and of course; it's a lot of fun. Perhaps most importantly I've found is that if your RP doesn't tend to impede and slow down the adventuring pace, many other non-rpers will end up joining in too, and commenting on how enjoyable it is as an addition to the game. Afterall it's all about the fun.
Hope our character's run into eachother in game sometime!

Sounds quite natural to me. If RP becomes disconnected from gameplay one no longer has a use for the game itself. I hope to see you around!
