DK Weapon advise

  1. I want to preface this question with the following, I have made a roleplay choice to not use swords with this character unless it is the absolute only option (which in this game, hasn't happened so far at 31).
I am wanting to know, what are some good weapons I can aim for at my level (31 DK). I am still using my Hunter's League weapon, which is still a good weapon (better than my upgraded crafted weapon).

Can anyone suggest something good I can get at this level range, and if it is quested, can you let me know where I can look up the information.

    Thank you for your time,
    Soulkanar
  2. You can get the CIS weapon (quest line level starts at 19 or 20 and the final quest requires level 28 )...which, IIRC, is a 2h axe. The quest start in Donovon's Roost by the CIS rift. Talk to Donovon.
The next weapon would be Cragwind, I think...but that's a huge grind. Not sure about Celestine Ward, but as a roleplaying DK, you may not want to help the High Elves retake their fallen temple.
Graystone would be the next after that. Again, not sure if the "Graystone Axe of Purification" fits an RP DK, considering you have to cleanse the old Targanoran burial ground of it's corrupting spirits and cartheon who have defiled it.
  3. I only RP through weapon choice. I may inspire dread in my enemies, but I'm not terribly picky with who I befriend.
Also, I will see if I can find the quests you mentioned, thank you.
  4. Ah, then I recommend you try the CIS one, first. The celestine ward one will have less of a grind, imo, than the cragwind one.
Oh, and expect to get stuck with a sword eventually. However, the best 2h in the game is a greatmaul, so there is hope.

Celestine Ward isn't an axe anyways.. it is a shield or a bow, unless you go through the questline for the Axe of Grim Portents (worse than HL one really).
CiS wouldn't be too bad, but for level 31... I'd say it is about time to head to the Northern Highlands and work on Dargun's Tomb (Final is a 2h Axe for you).
Then Greystone will provide the next upgrade for your 40's.
After that, there is also the Greataxe of Djuul from Rhaz Inkur, though it is comparable to the Greystone axe.
Those 2 will be your best weaps for a while if you plan on staying away from swords.
Next "upgrade" would be the Kamelott KDQ axe, which is a very rare (random) drop.
Following that, you're looking at the staff from Bridge of Destiny. This can be obtained via killing the nameds in the towers in BoD and collecting the 4 parts, or collecting ~1500 dusts from the elementals in Shimmering Shallows or BoD. The initial staff will not be an upgrade, however, you can then kill unstable elementals in IoG and collect the four glowing elemental parts to make the legendary version. This staff may or may not be better than the KDQ axe.
If you plan on raiding, Dresla drops a similar axe to the KDQ one, Fengrot drops a fabled version of the Dresla axe, and Summoner Physik drops a gem that you can place into the BoD staff to make a very nice weapon.
Aside from those... You can also progress through the Pantheon of the Ancients (50-55.. preferably 55). Upon reaching 20k faction in T3, you can gain access to the vaults, where you can get "Da Basher". At any access level, past initial entry, you can take part in a "chicken kill" where Ataraxis has a chance to drop "The Grave Digger". It lists as a sword, but it looks like a shovel. ;)
Lord Talfyn (in Misthaven) also drops a 2h maul for level 55.

There are plenty of options out there, though you'll miss out on some of the "easier" upgrades by choosing not to use a sword.
  6. Thank you. I will see what i can do about getting work done on the CIS and Tomb weapons. I'm waiting on my friends to catch up in level, so I won't get a lot of work done till they do.
    I appreciate the information.

CiS chain can be done through the low-mid 20's and the final quest requires 28+... so you can probably get in and do most/all of it along with them ;)
  8. You can also, once you reach level 48, get inside the Ancient Port Warehouse, where this is waiting for you :

It drops from General Vicus in the entrance wing, is not a sword and varies from the usual great axe.

    Aradrin.
  9. The Spear of Devotion is a very rare drop. I would reccommend that when you get to 45ish, you start doing the Heg quest line for the cloak and the 2hd hammer.
I have a bag full of 2hd weapons but most are 2hd slashing either sword or axe. Including the world drop axe and Dresla's axe but my favorite is at this time is the Dark Sword of Enegry off of Physic.
  10. not sure if its too late but if you group much, the rahz questline gets you a chance to find the Greataxe of Djuul - a weapon I literally raided with until I got the spear of devotion.
    It's a pretty axe. :)
You could do a lot of the stuff for it solo, but Djuul himself would be a tricky solo for someone around that 45-50 range.
  11. What do you mean a RP DK? Sorry i am new to the game and looking to start a DK. And if i can RP as a dk how do i do that and what would i have to do? Thinking of going goblin.

I doubt you will get an answer since this thread is over 2 years old.
Let your imagination run wild and you can RP anything...
