Afternoon diplomats I have a question regarding Diamond Paradisiac's I've been working on my mask and the one I want requires 3 of these things, however I have done this quest about 75 times and had the guy in NT cut my diamonds and have not had one Paradisiac Diamond Rewarded to me, i only have ever gotten Toff diamonds or that other useless item... i am level 22 diplomat. So my question is, is there any way to increase the odds of having the npc cut the rarer diamond ? or a less painful way of obtaining them? obviously theres none on the exchange! and i am not sure how much longer my sanity can hold out!!
The gem type the Lapidary cuts is random, and the odds of getting the orange one seem less than they were a few years ago. You can ask in the diplomacy or auction channels if anyone wants to sell or trade.
I would agree that the percentages for getting an orange-level diamond have become pretty absurd. I remember reading way back when that the chance of getting the orange version was 10%, while the chance of getting the ruined worthless gem (Dweomer Stone) was only 5%. Those percentages have changed drastically. I built these masks for a good while before F2P (when a few people started practically giving them away on the broker, making the time spent making them just not worth it) and I can say I did enough to have a fairly large sample size. I was getting at least 1 out of 4 cuts botched into a Dweomer stone--and the percentages ran close to 1 out of 3. It was so consistent that I stopped approaching the Lapadarian in NT until I had 4 stones to cut, because inevitably, one would be ruined. I know I had at least 120-130 stones cut and in all that time, I only got enough orange stones to make one mask--so about 3/120 was orange. I know the RNG doesn't like me, but c'mon!
