A Line in the Sand

It seems the devs have seen fit (or made a mistake) to allow light and medium classes to wear plate (heavy) armor. I am referencing this item:

You will note the required classes include medium and light armor classes, and allow these classes to wear a piece of heavy armor comparable to T3 PotA heavy armor.

I am calling for all my brothers-in-arms who take a beating daily in order to protect others to make their voices heard! Like me or hate me personally, I just don't care. But this issue is one that needs our attention now--before it grows. Some lines you just don't cross, and this is one of them!

We already have OP discs and monks tanking mobs. We sure do not need those classes doing so even more effectively by using heavy armor!

You may rationalize that it is just one piece, but once that line is crossed, there will be no going back. It will just be used to justify the expansion of these items in the future. If we do not stop this now, it will certainly grow in the future, to the detriment of all tanks. Make your voices heard, or sit back like sheep and just let it happen. The choice is really yours.

I'd be more likely to believe that the allowable classes is a mistake. That looks, for all intents and purposes, a tank item. It certainly wouldn't be useful for the clothies.

All they would do is change it from heavy to medium and the AC would drop a little, or change the classes to plate wearers as it could have been a mistake there. Your crusade will die horribly, never rationalizing its intent.
Just like when women in NY protested that they had to wear shirts during hot summer days, while men could go around topless. The intent was for a ruling that the men would have to wear shirts..... The judge found in favor of the plaintiff and no longer required them to wear shirts.
Be careful of the battles you choose and how you approach them. Sadly, this one was lost at inception.

Changing the classes to plate wearers would fix the problem. Their design tool should not allow "Heavy Armor" and "any medium or light armor class" to be added to one item. It should kick it out as incompatible. That would fix the problem in the future.

    Items
    • Fixed issues with Dragon Bone Boots and Dragon Skin Gloves.
      • These items have been relabeled as Medium and the proc should now function properly.
    Problem solved! Thank you Devs!

Reminds me of a Shakespeare play.

    "Much ado about nothing."
