Can my rogue solo later on?

  1. Hello I'm a long time returning player and I finally found a class I really like. Any experienced rogues able to give me solid solo tips for the inevitable times I can't find a group? Just hit lv 10, heres some other questions:
    -Is STR or DEX better?
-better to quest or kill non stop?
    -2 dots or 3 dots?
-does the crit bonus on daggers stack?
-any reason to ever use ranged?
-what kind of gear should I keep an eye out for stat wise?
-diplomacy have a purpose or just pure fluff?
-any noob areas in certain continents more popular then others? Prefer to group when I can
-any quests I can't do without in the 10-40's? I got the lucky bracelet
    Any help is appreciated thanks.
  2. I have a low lvl rogue and will give you the advice i was given when i asked some of the same questions.

Stats in order Stg, Dex, Vit some people prefer Con over Vit but it's up to you.
Quests are pretty good for grinding these days with URT, HL etc quests chains
2 dots no problem, 3 dots need to be your lvl or below and one at a time i find can be killed solo.
Ranged weapons for a rogue are more for stats and the odd pull.

Hope that helps and good luck! Rogues are an awesome and unique class in VG, they take a bit of skill and getting used to but if you have the patience you will go a long way
Play around with macros too, Rogues are a very good class to make macro's.
  4. Very helpful thanks a bunch! Sorry it' been awhile which area is URT, Hunters league, TK etc in? Or more specifically which waypoint should I take right out of Isle of Dawn for maximum groupage?

    Your Welcome!
You may need to do a few quests to ding a level or two and then you can start URT at level 12-13 from Renton Keep, Veskals Exchange and a few other locations but they are the ones I use mostly when running a new charcter through.
Hunters League is from level 17-18 from Skrillien Point in Qalia (I don't bother with lower HL as the URT gear is better) HL follows on after a few quests and sends you to Skawlra Rock a chunk or so away from Skrillien Point, you will need a flying mount to get there or swim. :)
