Your Diplomacy Level is the main indicator of your progress in the sphere of Diplomacy. You can view it at any time on the Equipment tab of the Diplomacy Equipment page on your character sheet. (Press C in game). Just like the Adventuring and Crafting spheres, your Diplomacy Level ranges from 1 to 50. Increasing your Diplomacy Level has a number of benefits:
Some Quests require you to be over a certain minimum level to start the quest;
Every 5 levels you gain an extra card slot in your deck whilst engaging in Parleys up to a maximum of 16 (when you reach level 45);
You can engage in Civic Diplomacy Parleys with higher level NPCs.
To increase your Diplomacy Level you must carry out Diplomacy Quests or engage in Civic Diplomacy

Class
Class is a fundamental choice that primarily determines your skills and abilities throughout your adventuring career but also affects your starting cards and expression. Class is only used to describe the profession of player characters. The profession of NPC's is described by station.
The race of player characters is a fundamental choice that determines what classes are available, the player's starting location, starting cards, expression and physical appearance. The race of NPCs also influences their expression. Each race is native to one of the three geographic regions: Thestra, Kojan or Qalia.
Expression is the representation of the four ways you can “influence” NPCs. The four expression types are Demand , Reason , Inspire and Flattery. During a parley, expression is represented by small colored dots on the game board which you can spend using statement cards.
Player Expression
Player starting expressions are determined by their race and class.
The expressions used by Civic Diplomacy NPCs are generally determined by their race and station. The following tables can be an initial guide to deck design for parleying NPCs with the caveat that individual NPC decks can vary greatly.
Diplomatic Presence of player characters are directly associated with the eight stations of NPCs: Academic, Clergy, Crafter, Domestic, Merchant, Noble, Outsider and Soldier. Your presence with each station determines how NPCs belonging to that station regard you. When engaging in parleys for Quests or Civic Diplomacy you will find that many NPCs refuse to talk to you unless your presence is high enough with their station.
Determining Diplomatic Presence
You can determine your current presence values for each station by looking at the "Equipment" tab of the diplomacy page on your character sheet (press 'c' in game). Your Diplomatic Presence is the sum of two parts:
Base Presence
Clothing bonuses
When you start out in diplomacy, the Base Presence value will be zero for all stations. To increase the Base Presence value for a particular station, you must engage in Civic Diplomacy parleys with NPCs that belong to that station. You may engage in any type of conversation. Most diplomacy clothing has presence associated with it that will add to your Base Presence when worn. This allows you to increase your presence with one station simply by swapping what you are wearing. You can obtain diplomacy clothing with higher presence either by doing Quests that include clothing as a reward, or by obtaining information from Civic Diplomacy parleys and exchanging them for clothing at an informant.
Increasing Diplomatic Presence
Presence increases are granted periodically after successful completion of parleys with a given station. It is unknown exactly what affects the rate at which presence increases are granted.
Note: Forum postings report that the amount you dominate a parley will affect the rate presence is increased (unconfirmed).
Note: Forum postings report that parleys against higher skilled npc's will increase the rate presence is increased (unconfirmed).
Maximum presence in any station is 4500. According to Sigil: "Even at the highest tiers of equipment, we are still expecting you to be bringing more than 75% of your total Presence from clothing. Clothing makes the man." Presence can be raised higher then 4500 though and does keep incrementing.
Effect on Levers
Besides enabling you to parley with NPCs that have minimum Diplomatic Presence requirements, the level of your presence with a particular station affects that rate at which you can push levers (for city buffs) when engaging in Civic Diplomacy. You also get a title (displayed for each station on the "Equipment" tab of the diplomacy page on your character sheet). The titles and the amount by which you can push a Lever for use successful parley are:

Diplomatic Prestige
Your Diplomatic Prestige is an indication of your level of success in Civic DiplomacyParleys in each area of Telon. You can view your Diplomatic Prestige at any time on the Prestige tab of the Diplomacy Equipment page of your character sheet (Press C in game). Prestige is currently capped at 1000 points. All cities and outposts in Telon where you can engage in Civic Diplomacy are associated with one of 9 Prestige Centers:
Prestige can be used as currency to pay for certain things in game.
Paying 1000 prestige to the King of each Prestige Center will give you a new Prestige Title.
Certain diplomacy containers can be bought with Diplomatic Prestige.
New Targonor Diplomatic Prestige can be traded for house coins to buy things from the various New Targonor Noble Houses.
Note: after a certain level it is very hard to obtain NT prestige faction AND it is very much needed. To complete the NT noble house quests requires 700 presence in multiple area's. The main way to get this much faction is to buy the clothing from the various houses; to get the clothing you need house faction, or NT faction, to trade for house coins. yet the top NT faction center (Renton) tops out at a civic diplomacy level well below the quest levels for house faction.... There are several ways to get NT prestige faction however that may not be obvious: 1) Writs from Leth Nurae and NT itself (once you have the 500 faction) will net 25 prestige faction for NT. 2) Diplo at Renton, while boring ,will also work albeit slowly. But the fastest gain of faction may be to 3) Parley the directors, ambassadors and sargents in the audience chamber of the King of NT (sigil of ages past). Ambassadors and Directors net 3 NT diplomatic prestige per parley and sargents net 2 per parley. In a 15 minute period, I have obtained 35 faction points, compared to 25 for a writ mission that takes approximately 30 minutes. Writ missions do indeed yeild a facet for diplo masks but if your main mission is to gain NT faction for house clothing then parleys in the audience chamber seems to be the key. Bear in mind that you can obtain clothing from the house you have pledged allegiance to as well as the related houses. I.E. Reminol grants Noble/Clergy clothing but the 2nd level missions for Reminol require 700 Soldeir. Shrike, a related house, gives Noble/Soldier presence clothing and therefore they might be the next step in acquiring clothingto continue the Reminol faction building. END NOTE: (Kelisco, Xeth, 10/21/08)** There is a 10th Prestige Center, Cartheon Empire, that is unlocked by the Launch an Elven Offensive Writ. The writ appears to give -25 prestige, and the center location is unknown. You can also unlock this Prestige Center by winning a parley against Eldor. The Cartheon Empire prestige is also unlocked by completing the Writ 'Old Allies, New Faces - Parts 1 and 2' in New Tagonor. Upon completion of this Writ, you initially receive +200 Cartheon Empire prestige and +25 Cartheon Empire prestige for each completion there after.

Faction Rating
Your Faction Ratings determine which cities and other locations you can visit without fear of being KoS (Killed on Sight). You can determine you current Faction Ratings by typing the command /showfactions in game. The results will be displayed in the chat windows. You will see two figures displayed for each Faction Rating:
Dynamic Rating
Full Rating
The Dynamic Rating is the amount by which your Faction Rating with that area has changed, and the Full Rating is the sum of the Dynamic Rating and a base Faction Rating that you have with every area that is determined by your Race. You can also view the full faction rating as well as the rating by opening your character sheet (C), selecting the Diplomacy screen, and clicking on the Factions tab.
-20,000 to -8,000
Kill on Sight
-7,999 to -5,000
Untrustworthy
-4,999 to -2,000
Wary
-1,999 to 2,000
Neutral
2,001 to 5,000
Sociable
5,001 to 8,000
Good
8,001+
Ally
The rating Kill on Sight (often abbreviated KoS) means that NPCs on this faction will attack you as soon as they detect you. If you are KoS in an area that you want to visit, then you will need to increase your faction by other means. The rating Untrustworthy means that you are able to attack these NPCs, but they will not be inherently aggressive to you.
Max is 20,000 Which is the Darker Green
This will show in your chat window as 22,000 for max faction
